Patient Prep Instructions for all Imaging Services
Purpose of imaging tests:
-
Determine the cause of pain.
-
Evaluate sensory-nerve irritation or significant soft-tissue injury.
-
To define a previously diagnosed injury or condition.
-
To identify an abnormal area for further diagnostic testing.
-
For early detection of lesions.
-
To monitor progress of healing and rehabilitation.
-
To provide objective evidence.
Purpose of test for Breast Health Screening:
-
For early detection of abnormal physiological changes in the breasts requiring further diagnostic testing.
-
A screening breast baseline cannot be acquired while pregnant or lactating.
Patient Preparation
New Patients, please bring New Patient paperwork found at the top of this page.
On the day of your appointment, please do not:
-
have physical therapy or electromyography
-
have strenuous exercise
-
no smoking 2 hours prior to appt time
-
shave any region of your body being imaged
-
use make-up, lotions, powders, antiperspirants, or therapeutic essential oils on the body
-
do skin brushing
-
have kidney dialysis
2-3 days before your appointment do not:
-
have body work 2 days prior.
-
use a tanning booth or have overexposure to the sun.
-
have acupuncture treatment 3 days prior.
Wait 3 months to have scans for the following conditions:
-
post-surgery, including biopsies.
-
radiation therapy.
-
chemotherapy.
-
post lactation.
On the day of your appointment, please do:
-
if your hair falls below your neck, please clip it up.
-
please wear loose fitting clothes with no jewelry around the neck.
-
no changes necessary for diet or medication.

What to Expect:
-
Procedure is non-invasive, no-contact, very private, no radiation.
-
Disrobing – remove all clothing and jewelry for region being imaged. We supply a gown for you to wear.
-
Inform your thermographer if you've had any recent skin lesions pertaining to the region being imaged; the inflammation may cause a false positive result.
-
Thermography is performed by a female certified clinical thermographer and is completely private/no-touch.
-
You will be behind a privacy curtain/screen while thermographer uses a laptop to frame, focus and capture images.
-
There are no risks nor side effects.
-
Average time for the appointment is 30 minutes for 1 or 2 ROI's. Full or half body appointments are 60 minutes.

You are welcome to bring a companion to be present during the scan.
-
Please bring your REFERRING healthcare provider’s name and address if you want a copy of your report and scans mailed to them.
We gladly accept personal check, cash, Visa/MC/Disc/AMEX for payment. We also accept HSA/Health Savings Account and FLEX account payments.
What Happens After Your Appointment
You will receive your completed report within 3-5 working days after your appointment. We will make a courtesy call to be sure you received your report and set a time for a review of the results by phone and to answer your questions.
